## The term

AI vampire (n.): a builder who runs several AI coding agents at once and skips
sleep because an idle agent feels like lost money. From Steve Yegge's essay
"The AI Vampire" (February 2026) and Marc Andreessen's line that for top
programmers "the cost of sleep got too high."

## Vampire Score (0 to 1000)

- Blood, 40%: monthly AI spend and tokens across every agent, log-scaled so a
  $40K whale cannot bury a sharp builder on $400.
- Kills, 40%: deploys, launches, merged features and MRR, verified through
  GitHub and Stripe, never self-reported.
- Night, 20%: parallel agents, the longest unbroken session and the share of
  usage between midnight and 5am. Style points only.

Ranks: Thrall 0-149, Fledgling 150-349, Nightwalker 350-549, Elder 550-749,
Ancient 750-899, Count 900+ (top 13 only).

## Boards

Vampire Score, Most blood, Best blood-to-kill, and Sunlight: days fully
offline. The Sunlight board exists because the essay that coined the term was
about burnout. A dawn pledge (agents stop when I sleep; one full day in the sun
each week; ask what's worth building first) shows as a streak on the card.

- Elder: $8/month or $72/year. Private covens, full history, night heatmaps,
  custom card.
- Coven: $15 per seat per month, for engineering teams. Spend paired with
